well the 2008 shore three is about 2519 if i remember so save up 500 and sell your hardtail it would be a great investment

You have to be one hell of a good rider if you want to race downhill on a hardtail. The hard parts of dowhill on a hardtail are that you have to be super smooth and have balls of steel.
